Service Description

From mid-December to mid-April, if you’re looking to explore something truly captavating, take the Winter Wildlife and Waterfalls Tour. You’ll discover winter in Yellowstone National Park with snow blanketed volcanic peaks and glacially carved river valleys creating a dramatic landscape. We venture to the north side of Yellowstone to explore Mammoth Hot Springs, frozen waterfalls, and incredible wildlife in Lamar Valley struggling for survival during the harshest and yet most beautiful time of the year. Just sign up for a tour and let a Professional Geologist and wildlife expert narrate the winter views while searching for wildlife. Have you always wanted to see the travertine layer-cake hot spring formations at Mammoth Hot Springs? How about viewing Undine Falls or visiting Lamar Valley? How about possibly seeing a black or grizzly bear, a lone moose or a pack of wolves interact in their ecosystem? Come visit America's First National park during the winter! We will travel to the North Entrance and explore the North Grand Loop towards Lamar Valley. Extreme weather conditions may limit where we can go. Both of our Mercedes Sprinter van seats 7 guests. All tours are private and include the use of binoculars, spotting scope, maps, teaching tools, and picnic blankets. Snacks and bottled water are included. Please pack a winter jacket, comfortable walking or snow boots, warm hat, sunglasses, possibly sunscreen, and child-like enthusiasm. We can include short snow hikes, boardwalks, or just an auto tour. All tours are designed to your group's interests and are weather dependent. We leave at 7am if leaving from Big Sky. This guided tour includes the van and guide for about a 10+ hour tour from Big Sky (about 8+ hours from Bozeman). Since this is an all-day tour, it may be best to leave earlier than 7am from Big Sky. Pricing starts at $949 for 1 to 3 guests. Go to booking page for more pricing information for more than 3 guests. Meals, park entrance fees, and gratuities are not included in the tour price. Please note a 4% resort tax and 2.9% processing fee is added at the checkout. If you enjoyed the tour (service), please tip your guide. We appreciate and only accept cash for gratuities. All ages are welcome. Children under 60 lbs must have a child seat. 3% of all proceeds go back to Yellowstone National Park to help implement the Commercial Use Authorization programs and their associated education programs.
